For: Families

Scientific curiosity begins in the family. Any trip to the New England Aquarium or Franklin Zoo is evidence. Watch the new father or mother glow as they answer their child’s barrage of questions. Through reading, trips to museums, and conversations, parents effortlessly pass on their fascination of the natural world to the next generation. This section highlights events that kids and their parents can enjoy together.

Harvard Museum of Natural History Kid’s Club

Sign up your young naturalist for an after-school kids’ club this fall. In the Animal Artists Club (ages 7-11) students will sketch face-to-face with a zebra, tiger, and moose as they gain a new appreciation for the animal world. In the Young Scientists Club (ages 10-13) students will formulate research questions, observe specimens and live animals, and design and carry out experiments.

Both clubs meet for six Tuesdays, from 3:40 to 5:00 pm, September 16 through October 21. Advance registration is required. Email reservations@oeb.harvard.edu for more information.
