Starting Over Again
July 2008
Dear Readers,
Science Metropolis has been reborn for the third time. It’s grown from simpler days of a simple navigation bar on the left and a spiral notebook graphic on the right to the cityscape template many were familiar with. What you see now was wireframed by me and designed and coded by Iterative Media, who impressed me with their customer service and speed.
There have been mixed reactions to the new look, some think it’s very professional, others find it too colorful. I’m still getting used to it, but I think once things get rolling, the site will shine.
One new addition I’d like to point out is the mailing list on your right. Please sign up. I promise not to bog you with e-mails. Maybe once a month tops. It’s wroth it to be reminded of all the original reporting, inside information, science poetry and videos this site offers.
There are also three new buttons to press on the top of the site. Each going to an audience for families, students and science hobbyists. By the end of the summer, click on any of these categories to find unique stories, deals and resources for that audience.
The site is going to be slowly growing over the next month, so there many not be as many posts as usually due to large amounts of time going to behind the scenes work. This is the perfect time to contribute your own stories and ideas, because they can really stick out.
Thanks for being part of the team.
Joseph
